“Changing the SES industry.” A commitment to securing overwhelming freedom.

I originally worked in sales for a staffing firm, with no connection to IT. I was deeply impressed by my company’s internal systems and wanted to transfer into its IT department, but the move never happened. After a period of poor health, at 25 I finally changed careers and moved into the IT industry as I had always wanted. I spent around five years as an engineer, but I started to see distortions in the industry. At 30 I went freelance, and at 32 I founded INNOVACTORY.
The IT company I joined at 25 was a subcontractor to a general contractor, and it wasn’t quite the environment I had expected. When I felt I could — and wanted to — do it on my own, I left and went freelance. Fortunately, clients rated my work highly, and at 32 I was asked whether I would incorporate; that’s how INNOVACTORY was founded.
I believe a company should have everyone pointing in the same direction. But the industry norm today is on-site staffing, where you work alongside people from other companies — each with different goals and different ideas about the future. On top of that, the man-month business model often fails to pay people fairly, and that never sat right with me. The company I joined at 25 was no different. I want to change that.
Some people enter this industry and think, “this isn’t quite what I expected.” I felt that myself after switching careers, which is why I started this company. If engineers could work more freely, I’m convinced they could build better things and contribute more to their clients than before. If that idea resonates with you — regardless of age or experience — I’d love to talk. A casual conversation is perfectly fine; I look forward to hearing from you.
